About the Author

My name is Tie and I have been a teacher for most of my life, in all types of classrooms. I am an advocate for women in general but Black women especially because simply put, "Their blues ain't like ours."
Much of who we are is a direct result of things from our childhood which we have identified with so they have become a part of who we are. The only way we can address these things is to acknowledge that they exist, accept them and commit to making changes we can live with. Here, I am going to offer perspectives; i.e. different ways of looking at things. With a clear understanding of human behavior and the reasons we do the things we do, we are in a unique position to make improvements in any area of our lives- whether it is at home, in our career, our health, or our finances. Like my mother always told us, "When you know better, you do better."
